I was born in Santa Barbara in 1965 and have been studying the region's biota since becoming a birder at age 15. After relocating to Orange County in 1985 I graduated from UC Irvine and began consulting in 1988. Following six years at the firm of LSA Associates, I became an independent biological consultant in 1994. I moved to Long Beach in 2000, where I now live with my wife and two sons, and incorporated the consultancy in 2009.
I am a collaborative problem-solver by nature; no project is too small, large, simple, or complicated. My approach is to be thorough, objective, creative, and scientifically rigorous while remaining responsive to the client's interests, schedule, and budget. Having spent more than 20 years consulting in the same region, my reputation for work of the highest caliber is well established among land developers, public agencies, non-profit groups, scientific peers, and colleagues in the planning field; references available upon request. I look forward to hearing from you.
